Karen Netherton

Karen Netherton joined CSL Seqirus in 2015 from Novartis, where she held the role of Head of Quality at the Liverpool influenza vaccine manufacturing facility. In 2018, Karen was appointed Global Head of Quality Assurance, a role spanning all CSL Seqirus sites and Contract Manufacturing Organisations. In this role she was responsible for overall quality, batch release and sterility assurance. During 2019, Karen undertook an international assignment to lead CSL Seqirus’ cell-based manufacturing facility in North Carolina as Executive Director of Manufacturing. In July 2021 Karen was appointed Vice President of Quality, joining the CSL Seqirus Leadership Team.

In 2024 Karen was promoted to SVP, Global Head of Quality for CSL Enterprise Functions and CSL Seqirus. In this expanded role, Karen assumes CSL Quality responsibility for quality control, quality systems and compliance, external and supplier quality and sterility assurance across the CSL enterprise, will also maintaining her CSL Seqirus business unit Quality Leadership accountabilities. 

Karen has over 40 years’ global experience in the pharmaceutical and vaccines industry. She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and a Master’s in Business from Liverpool John Moores University.
